Seminole Heights Garden Center

Seminole Heights Garden CenterAs I have the time, I have been categorizing all of the public spaces in Seminole Heights.  As I was lucky enough to attend the grand re-opening of the Seminole Heights Garden Center, I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures.

This historic building and park grounds was originally built to be a garden club. It started out as private and was later deeded to the city.  The Center, prior to all this work, looked like a 1970 double-wide trailer on the inside with the cheap wood paneling and linoleum floors.  The windows had been replaced with much smaller and simpler versions, with stucco filling up the gap between the brick walls and the less-than-acceptable replacements.  Now, as you can see, the windows are back to their full size and look appropriate for this wonderful historic structure.

Thanks goes to everyone that worked on this project, including Greg Barnhill and Eric Krause.

You can find the Garden Center page under the "Parks" link in the menu or you can go directly to it by following this link.
