Calling all Artists! Taco Bus T-shirt Contest
Chef Rene Valenzuela is looking to create a unique t-shirt to represent the Taco Bus restaurant. In his own words:
Here at Taco Bus I'm going to have a contest in January and first two weeks of February that I have to tell you about. To me this place belongs to the community, to the big family of our customers and fans, so I decided to make the T-shirt design open contest to all of our customers and fans, many of them who are artists: professionals or aficionados.
Not only this contest is going to give an avenue for self expression to the artists but also is is going to give some young artists the opportunity of success, achievement, recognition, the applause of friends and family, bragging rights and maybe even a little resume building. Meanwhile we are going to have a lot of fun.
So here is the contest:
The contest
1) Everyone, students, professionals or aficionados are welcome to participate.
2) The content of the T-shirt design can be just about anything. A drawing, a catchy phrase, a logo. B&W or color is ok.
3) Submit the drawings to Taco Bus to be displayed in a wall, final entry Feb 14, 2009. The T-shirt will be selected the weekend after that.
The judging panel
The customers of Taco Bus can vote for the design they like best and have a 20% say on the final result.
The other 80% is decided by a judging panel filled with two art teachers of USF, an T-Shirt industry expert and Taco Bus owner Rene.
The prize:
1st place gets that the Taco Bus throws a party in his/her honor for 30 people friends and family. Dinner and drinks included. Also 30 of his/her winning T-Shirts and a plaque.
2nd place gets the same for 10 people
3rd place gets the same for 4 people.
